Toll roads will limit improvements to existing roads
December 5, 2005

IMPORTANT - We at CINQ have recently become aware that the current plan for the superhighway toll road does not have any plan to improve SH 93 or US-6 where it parallels the proposed toll road. The tolling authority said specifically that this was a way to keep the free road from competing with the toll road.  In the Technical Support Committee/Corridor Consensus Committee meeting minutes, this phrase appears:  "No upgrades have been planned for SH 93 so as to avoid any competition for the proposed tollway alternative."

The article below appeared in a Texas newspaper.   Texas is having the same controversies as we are in Colorado regarding toll roads and non-compete agreements.
